Gilpin Road

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

I finally got the street tires mounted on the ZX this week and put them on the car.  I really haven’t driven it much in the past year other than back and forth to the airport to race.  I wanted to stretch it’s legs and make sure it ran before I tackled the suspension.  Drove out this morning to Flintstone and up Gilpin Road.  Nice.

Had the new Khumo’s mounted and picked them up this morning.  35 days, but who’s counting.

white-track.jpgtoday that as we prep for the 2008 Team Zip Tie Cup we should consider adding another award that will be just as equally sought after and vigorously contested.  That would be the Team Zip Tie Cone Award.  Here’s the gist – At the end of each day of running, the Zip Tie member that collects the most cones gets an orange cone sticker to affix to his rear window.  The season winner would then be determined by how many days he was the top collector of cones.  Much like beating each other on raw times, the winner would be entitled to bragging rights and the privilege of sporting the cones on his rear window during the off season.  The cones would be about 1-2″ tall and made of something similar to the tech sticker that we all display as a badge of coolness and safety.  Thoughts?
