We’re Back…

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

… and boy did winter make people faster (or made me slower).

We put the ucked in Duct.

The first autocross of the Cumberland season went off without much of a hitch.  Saturday offered a mostly beautiful day, with the skies giving up a little bit of moisture by the end of the fourth heat, but kindly waiting until the last car had finished before letting loose a deluge.  Sunday was cooler, and slightly more overcast in the morning, but the sun came out later in the in the day and made for some great racing.

Saturday’s course was technical, but fast.  Sunday’s course was slightly more open.  My little 4-banger was doing its best to keep up with the eVil V8s of Mustang Boy and Senior Geraghty, and the bigger sixes of Richard and Patrick.  Richard and Mustang Boy get the “spent the most money over the winter” award, and it showed!  The cars (and drivers) were scary fast this time around.

Saturday

Sunday

So, now the part you’ve all been waiting for.  Things are very, very different this year.

No one chose to “Invoke a Cone” (in a nutshell, add two seconds to a person’s fastest run before PAX calculation) on Mustang Boy.  Don’t expect the same courtesy in June.

I’ll have video up later today, but you can access mine (and Mustang Boy’s) MaxQData files here.

In all, it was great to be back.  We are all looking forward to the Historics (I’m even bringing a guest co-driver… hopefully he won’t break my car).

Is anyone else thinking about going?

To the cone killer classic that is.

With the camping option it could be fun and interesting.

Have fun…

Enjoy your weekend guys.  I unfortunately will be at work both days.  I’ll see you in July…
