So by now you’ve checked your email about the nominees. Good. Those will be announced soon.

Now, on to the rules.

In an attempt to get some more competition, I’ve made an adjustment to how the points system will work for this year.

First, we will be going on a 10 point system. First in PAX will get 10 points, second will get 9, third gets 8, so on and so forth.

Next, we will be dropping your three lowest scoring days. You can’t make it to an event, it won’t count against you. If it rains and you weren’t on the right tires, it won’t count against you.

Finally, we will be rewarding poor performance. It only seems right that we’d do something like this.
If you are the person with the most cones on the day, and you didn’t rank in our first place (on the day) position, you will earn 2 bonus points. That’s right… Drive like shit and cone a lot, and you might only get 5 points. But if you get more cones than anyone else, you get 7. Go ahead, take out that wall of cones… we’ll let the corner workers know what you’re doing.

I ran this new system on our scores from last year, and while it didn’t change the outcome, it changed the gap from first to second. Using just a straight ten point system, the difference from first to last was 64 points. “Drop Three, Add Two” changed that gap to only 28 points.
