It’s the Final Countdown!

do do do do, do do do dee dee, do do do do, do do do dee dee, do do, do do, do do, do do dee dee, deeeeeee!

Sorry about that… We are down to the wire with one day (not event) left to decide the winner in the TZT Cup. Current standings, with the point drops can be seen here:

So I went to the old post where I had updated the rules for this year, and I noticed something fun.  I had been assuming a “drop two” style scoring, but, per Thomas’s request, it was made into a “drop four” style.

Newer Year, Newer Rules, and soon, Newer Blood

To steal from Wade, the magenta cells indicate the “drop four” scores and will be adjusted as necessary.

It breaks down like this:

1. Gimp (60.66666667 points)
2. Mustang Boy (60 points)
3. Doug (52 points)
4. Rich (46 points)
5. Kate (45 points)
6. Bill (11 points)
7. Patrick (11 points)
8. Thomas (0 points)

Only .666666667 points separate the lead, but many other battles are there for the taking.  Will Kate top Rich?  Which Geraghty will reign supreme?  Will  Thomas show up? If so, will he remember to bring the Cone Award to share with the 2009 winner?

Head job at my place??? Seriously though, head gasket set should be here tomorrow. Do the head and hang the exhaust and I should be in business. Hopefully by this weekend the car will be ready to roll.

I just realized… the rules as they are could lead to an intentional cone competition for Gimp and I.

A cone punting competition could decide position at multiple levels. How did it digress to this? The gub’mint must be involved.

If MustangBoy edges Gimp out, I suggest something involving tar & feathering.

Hey Folks – Found out last week I will be managing the rebuild of a Recovery Boiler at the Luke Paper Mill for the next few weeks and will not make the October race.

Original plan was to show up with the 315′s (335′s maybe) under my recent fat fenders and and show all how the old guy in the dinasour could stick to the track. Oh well……for a lot of really good reasons, just can’t happen.

Can I get a rain check for next season?

So talks with my father have come to forums…oh how technology has changed the face of interpersonal communication. I digress…

I haven’t spent much time on the Lotus as my daily driver has required a bit of attention in preperation for my field time. Training ends in 3 weeks so the car has to be in mostly reliable form. Without that, there be no money for Lotus parts when the time comes. Needless to say, it’s still running M+S tires and ready for all of your color commentary and endless criticism.

The Lotus, Laura and I will all be there next weekend. Like us or not we’re making the 6 hour drive for a fun-filled weekend of cheapshots, low-blows, cookouts and comradery.

    See you soon!

Looks like I’m out for Saturday. New position at work is killing me. I’m still trying to make it for Sunday. It’ll have to be as a member of the arrive and drive program as the golf isn’t done…

What is everyone planning for dinner Saturday night? We might try to make it over that way early enough to join in the festivities of the evening.

  7. Patrick Patrick says:

Laura and I will be at Henny`s more than likely for dinner. Give me a call if you plan on being in town.
